TRASH TALK.
DO YOUR PART

http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/storyprint.asp?StoryID=929807

Compost your lawn clippings - if you don't use
lawn chemicals. Compost leaves too.

Be part of the solution rather than part of the
problem.

Maybe the City should switch to picking up
glass, paper and metal recyclables once or
twice a month?

Neighborhood Association Presidents and Addressees,

Please read and forward the following information to all of your members, students, employees and local businesses:

There have been 58 reported Thefts from Motor Vehicles City Wide, since April 25, 2010. It appears that the suspect(s) have entered the vehicles through unlocked vehicle doors or by breaking a vehicle window. The items stolen range from a pocketbook and wallet, to a variety of electronic devices and money. Albany Police are again reminding residents to lock their cars and remove any valuable items from inside the car when they leave it unattended. As we are moving into the spring and summer seasons car owners should remember to lock their cars when they leave unattended regardless if it is for a short period of time or overnight.

Tips to Help Prevent Theft from Vehicles

ü Lock your car. Most thieves will try multiple car doors to look for one that is unlocked to steal out of.
ü Don’t hide a second set of keys in your car. They don’t serve a purpose and if a thief gets in your car they could steal it.
ü Park in well-lighted areas.
ü Park in Attended Lots. Auto thieves do not like witnesses and prefer unattended lots.
ü Close your car windows when parking. Don’t make it any easier for the thief to enter your vehicle.
ü Hide Your Valuables. Don’t make your car a more desirable target for thieves by leaving valuables in plain sight.
ü Make the interior of your car look the same way it did when you bought it. Clean out the visible change in the center console and anything else that is in plain view from the outside of the car. Coin change is enough for a thief to break into your car.
ü Unplug charging devices from auxiliary power outlets. Thieves will think that there are electronic devices in the car if they see charging devices plugged into power outlets.
ü Report suspicious activity, such as people looking into or trying the door handles on vehicles.

“If you See Something, Say Something.”

Please report all suspicious person(s) or activities to the Albany Police Department
at
438-4000

Thanks,

Janet

Government can't save us. We must save our
selves.

Security is the priority issue locally, statewide
and nationwide. Ignore this fact at your own
peril.

ARE THESE EVENTS
JUST COINCIDENCE?

The Gulf oil rig explosion? The Boston
water line break? The attempted Times
Square bombing?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Nonetheless, keep in mind that our
borders and ports are not secure and
tens of millions of illegal aliens have
invaded our land, along with some
"legal immigrants" who are bent on
our destruction.

http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/storyprint.asp?StoryID=927372

Politicians at the federal, state and local
levels are engaged in politics as usual
while ignoring the priority issue -
keeping America and all Americans safe.

Political correctness in dealing with public
security and safety, promoting amnesty for
illegal aliens, political units providing
sanctuary for illegal aliens, failing to crack
down on terror cells present in country
allowing Islamic radicals to recruit
prsioners in our prison system, and failing
to disarm gangbangers, and other anti-social
malcontents, who are the natural allies of the
foreign terrorists, seeking our destruction; is
putting America, and all Americans, at
grave risk.

The Albany Common Council has passed
Resolutions promoting Albany as a sanctuary
city and Resolutions sympathetic to convicted
terrorists.

Fortunately, Albany Mayor Jennings
recognizes the threats that terrorists present.

Once again- security and public safety are
the priority issues at all levels of government.

If we are not safe, nothing else matters!

The reality is that government can't save
us - we must be vigilant and save ourselves
and our loved ones.

It was alert citizens who averted the NYPD
to the smouldering car bomb in Times
Square.

Quick citizen action followed up by the
skilled members of the NYPD Bomb Squad
averted hundreds of casualties.

Thus, it falls to each of us to be alert for
potential terrorist individuals and acts
and to alert the local and state police
immediately.

Fill in your local police/sheriff's number.

9-11 changed our lives forever. We are
at war with an enemy that does not wear
uniforms; an enemy who dwells amongst
us, due to the failure of federal, state and
local governments to effectively address
the priority issues of our time- national
security and public safety.
