ATTENTION WALKERS
JOGGERS BUCKINGHAM
POND PARK
Beware of dead trees/limbs
overhanging foot paths
particularly on windy days.
Avoid traversing the foot
path, pond south side from
Lenox to Euclid until the
City gets around to removing
dead trees/limbs overhanging
that part of the pond foot path.
Next time you take a walk or
go jogging around the pond
pause on the North side
between Lenox and Euclid.
Look South across the pond
and you will observe where
the dead trees/limbs overhang
that portion of the foot path.
Yesterday, when walking Paddy
and Mick on the foot path in
the wooded section between
Lenox and Holmes Dale, we
encountered several groups
of walkers including elderly
people and children.
I advised them to avoid walking
on the lower footpath between
Lenox and Euclid because of
the overhanging dead tree/limb
hazard; and to take the section
of Berkshire South instead.
At the North side of the pond
we later encountered a man and
two small children who we had
advised to avoid the lower foot
path, South side, between Lenox
and Euclid.
The man thanked me for warning
them about the dead tree/limb
hazard. He told me, as they
walked on South Berkshire a
big limb fell from one of the
dead trees along the lower
path.
City tax payers do not need
to be hit with higher property
taxes to pay for large law suits
because of the failure of the
city to address the dead tree/
limb hazards along the pond
park foot paths.
Until then, walkers and joggers
should be alert and carefully
observe conditions that pose
hazards as they navigate the
pond park foot paths.
