POND PARK TRAVERSE 5/3/08

Jack and City Parks crew have mowed grass...looks good. Some clearing done around trees on Rafts Way between Colonial and Milner; but more clearing is needed around small Hemlocks and other conifers, so they can grow.

After rains, pathways have some slippery spots where clay silt has compacted. Someone bound to fall. Liability for City. Blue stone needed on paths.

The channel between the holding pond at Davis/Berkshire and the main pond is stagnant and in need of cleaning/dredging.

New lighting on Milner Ave path/bridge is fine. Also, lighting is good on lower path between Euclid and Lenox on Berkshire South.

Construction of a bulkhead, addition of fill and plantings of Red Osier Dogwood and Black Alder needed to stabilize shore and adjacent path between Euclid and Lenox on Berkshire South.

Vines still need to be cut from trees, to permit proper tree growth, along path between Lenox and Holmes Dale, pond south side; and west end woods bordering Davis Ave.

Mother duck guarding 3 eggs in a tree stump. Do not disturb.
